What is Tadasana

Tadasana or Mountain Pose is one of the basic asanas of yoga. The name Tadasana Yoga is made up of two Sanskrit words. ‘Tad’ which means ‘mountain’ and ‘asana’ means ‘posture’,. this asana means to be in mountain posture. Although it is easy and simple to practice this asana, it has many health benefits.

To do other important standing poses like handstand or headstand, you first need to learn and practice mountain pose. This is usually one of the first beginner asanas taught in a yoga class. Its practice actually benefits your entire body and mind.

While performing this asana, you have to be steady on the ground and connect with the earth so that energy can flow in the body. Tadasana yoga pose works effectively to increase the length of your body and stretch the body from the feet to the arms.

STEP TO MOUNTAIN POSE:

  1. Stand straight and keep some distance between your feet.

2. Keep both hands straight near your body.

3. Now while taking a deep breath, raise both your arms above the head and tie your fingers together.

4. Keep the arms straight and stretch.

5. Raise your heels and stand on your toes.

6. During this, a stretch should be felt in your body from the feet to the fingers of the hands.

7. Stay in this position for 10 seconds and keep breathing.

8. Now exhale and come back to your starting position.

Benefit of mountain pose:

Any person who practices Tadasana regularly and with the right method can get the following benefits-

However, if you are pregnant, practice this yoga asana only as prescribed by a trainer.
